LJA Surveying provides aerial data collection and inspection services using unmanned aerial systems (UAS) dedicated to providing a safe, cost-effective, and efficient way to gather actionable data for their business. We have collaborated on a number of “industry firsts” providing successful proof of concept flights for industrial, commercial, and government entities. This experience has given us a unique perspective on the advances and uses of UAS technology in a multitude of industries. From oil and gas assets, forestry and agriculture to construction and bridges, LJA Surveying has the expertise and technology to capture the quality data you need, including thermal imagery and methane detection, using the latest UAS technology and instrumentation. We hire only FAA certified pilots to fly our UAS. We have Section 333 Exemption from the FAA to conduct commercial UAS flights in the USA. We are one of only 8 companies to pass the rigorous testing and vetting process sponsored by Texas A&M University, TEEX, Lone Star Center for Excellence, FAA, and NASA. We were specifically recognized for “setting a new standard in safety and professionalism.” We are fully insured for your sake and ours.

UASs with Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) provide survey-grade laser mapping and photogrammetry with accuracies down to a few centimeters. This efficiency allows the creation of 3D models to be used in planning, design, measurement, and decision making throughout a project’s life cycle, including construction and owner occupation. The demand for UASs with LiDAR is growing quickly, and their quality and usage will continue to expand as the technology develops. Using LiDAR is very cost effective compared to traditional methods.

Aerial Photogrammetric Mapping
LJA’s aerial mapping and remote sensing services such as digital ortho photos are used by engineers, designers, developers, and environmental scientists on a wide variety of projects. Ortho photos can be delivered in color or black and white depending upon specific needs, and with our state-of-the-art digital equipment, the quality and detail is greater than ever before. Airborne remote sensing is an equally valuable tool that can provide overall forest health assessment, as well as hyper spectral imaging and mapping of features not visible to the human eye such as vegetation delineation, mapping of invasive species, aquatic vegetation, coastal sea life, saltwater vs. freshwater, oil spill, and toxic contamination.
